Community

Let me introduce myself; my name is Peggy-Ann and I work as the Community Arts Development Officer for The King’s C.E. School. My background is in Visual Performance and Arts Management, with previous employment being predominately theatre or art based. My role at the school is to liaise with our partner primary and secondary schools in the areas of Visual Arts, Dance, Drama and P.E. I help to facilitate a programme of events that relate directly to our Visual Arts Plan.
For the academic years 04/05 to 05/06 we have delivered a diverse range of projects to our partner schools, these have included:
- Dance, Drama, Ceramics, Sculpture and Gymnastics Professional Development Days for primary teaching staff
- Yr 6 Master Classes in Dance and Drama
- Yr 5 Animation Workshops
- Yr 2 Batik Workshops
- Special School Access to Sports ‘Festival’
If you require further information on the above, or indeed any of the projects we have delivered over the last two years, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are in the process of devising a programme for 06/07 and 07/08, details will be available shortly.
In addition, I liaise with local community groups, developing links to promote positive inclusion for both the school and its pupils. These include, Tettenhall Wood Tenants and Residents Association, Tettenhall Wood Initiative Group, Asian Women’s Adhikar Association, Warstones Community Group and Tettenhall Community Arts Area Forum.
At present we have strong links with a young progressive Graphics Company, Born Communication, based at the Science Park. Born Communication have produced the recent publication of The King's C.E. School prospectus, they also produce various promotional elements such as posters and programmes for our drama groups. If you would like to see what other services they provide, just visit www.borncommunication.co.uk
We are constantly looking to develop links with local businesses and would welcome inquiries from any interested parties. If you require further information, please contact me at the school.
