As a Specialist Visual Arts and Sports College with Science great importance is given to all types of creativity. The Arts are used across the wider curriculum to harness values and give expressions to skills, talents and ideas that often can be measured.
We offer many opportunities for our students to participate in physical activities and exercise, activating the brain, developing physical skills and increasing self confidence.
We have a commitment to provide maximum opportunities for young people to achieve within the Specialist Visual Arts & Sports College with Science subjects, thus providing access to further training, higher eduaction and employment within these areas. As a centre for excellence within Wolverhampton in these specialist subjects, the school develops and shares leading practice with other schools and the community.
The specialist subjects are characterised by equality of access to all and are used as a powerful stimulus to teaching and learning, influencing, informing and underpinning the whole curriculum. This supports the Specialist Schools movement in its primary aim of the whole school improvement.
As a Specialist School rigorous targets are set for all subjects at examination level. In addition we offer enhanced provision and courses within the specialist subjects.
At the King's C.E School, the Visual Arts are Art & Design, Textiles & Graphics and Dance & Drama, but we work tirelessly to extend projects to other areas in the Arts such as Music and The Moving Image.
