WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT?

Certificate of Achievement is available in some subjects where it is thought students will not reach the standard for GCSE by the end of the course. Students who take the Certificate work in modules with tests on each module at the end of each term. Currently, Certificate of Achievement is offered in Modern Foreign Languages although students are sometimes switched to the Certificate during other GCSEs if they are making only very limited progress.
