During this course you will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of issues that affect our multi faith community
  • Prepare you for any career where understanding people, their culture and their differences are involved
  • Think about moral and social issues and develop your own ideas
  • Become skilled at arguing and evaluating your own ideas and feelings

The course you will study will include the following topics:

  • Is there a God?
  • Is there life after death?
  • Are we all equal?
  • Is all life sacred?
  • Is marriage an outdated institution?
  • Christianity is currently the primary religion studied in this course

During the course you will be expected to complete the following assignments/pieces of coursework:

There is no coursework component to this Full Course/ Short Course GCSE. Homework will be set on a weekly basis, which will help you to build up knowledge and techniques essential for success in the examinations. Examinations will be taken in Year 10 and Year 11.

The examination board in this subject is: OCR

The levels of entry available to you in this subject are: single level entry

The assessment for this subject is:

Final examination Full Course: 4 exams of 1hour 100% of final marks
  Short Course: 2 exams of 1 hour 100% of final marks
